Photography Etiquette in India
Indians are generally open to having their photo taken, but there are some groups that view
it as intrusive or exploitative, and some times when it is seen as inappropriate. Generally you
should avoid photos of slums, beggars, lepers, holy wanders, or cremations/funerals. Some
religious buildings will request that you do not take photos inside. In some places, you will
need to pay a small fee to be allowed to use your camera or camcorder.
