What our travelers say:
49 Arrive early.
I always leave at least one day before my departure date. I find that
this not only keeps the stress level down in case of bad weather or unexpected
flight changes, I then have one whole day to myself to sleep late, have a relaxing
breakfast, and adjust to the new time zone before we are o and running.
—Bonnie Levy, 9-time traveler, San Diego, CA
Editor’s Note: I agree with Bonnie, and would also add that if you are on a
group trip, it pays to stay on a day or two later at the end of your trip. You can
use the time to visit (or revisit) a place you may have missed, relax, do last-
minute shopping, and take your time packing.
