PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Not appropriate for travelers using wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids
• You must be able to walk 3-4 miles over loose gravel trails, unassisted, and participate in
4-6 hours of physical activities each day
• Agility and balance are required for embarking boats in Milford Sound
• We reserve the right for Trip Leaders to restrict participation, or in some circumstances
send travelers home, if their limitations impact the group’s experience
CLIMATE
• Daytime temperatures range from 40-80°F depending on time of year
• New Zealand’s climate is mostly temperate: December-February are the warmest
months, May-September are the coolest months; weather conditions can change quickly
TERRAIN & TRANSPORTATION
• We’ll travel over city streets on foot, as well as moderately rugged terrain and loose-
gravel trails
• Travel by private, air-conditioned coach and public ferry
