               Your Luggage


               Checked luggage

              one piece of checked luggage per person. Look for one with heavy nylon fabric, wrap-around
              handles, built-in wheels, and a heavy-duty lockable zipper.

               Carry-on bag

               You are allowed one carry-on bag per person. We suggest a tote or small backpack that can be
               `^PO L^ MZ_S L NL]]d ZY MLR QZ] dZ`] ʮTRS_ LYO _Z NL]]d dZ`] OLTWd YPNP^^T_TP^ɨbL_P] MZ__WP
              camera, etc—during driving excursions and walking trips.


               A small bag is a necessity for certain portions of your trip.
               There will be two occasions on the main trip when your main luggage (your suitcase or large
               O`ʬPW MLR  bTWW MP ^PY_ LSPLO MPNL`^P ZQ _SP WTXT_PO W`RRLRP ^[LNP ZY _SP _]LTY^ _Z LYO Q]ZX
               Kanazawa. During these times you won’t have access to your main luggage, so you’ll need
               _Z `^P L ^XLWWP] MLR TY^_PLO  ?ST^ ^XLWWP] MLR NLY MP L O`ʬPW  L MLNV[LNV  Z] L bPPVPYO
               bag—whatever you feel comfortable with. It only needs to hold enough gear for three nights
               at most. Many travelers will simply re-purpose the bag they used as a carry-on during their
               ʮTRS_  :] dZ` NZ`WO [LNV _SP ^XLWWP] MLR TY_Z dZ`] ^`T_NL^P Z] MTR O`ʬPW

               Travelers on the Hiroshima extension will also use this smaller bag during that extension.
