Your Luggage


               Checked Luggage

               in wheels, and a heavy duty lockable zipper. Please do not bring a rigid (plastic shell) suitcase.


               Carry-on Bag

               You are allowed one carry-on bag per person. We suggest a tote or small backpack that can be
               `^PO L^ MZ_S L NL]]d ZY MLR QZ] dZ`] ʮTRS_ LYO _Z NL]]d dZ`] OLTWd YPNP^^T_TP^ɨbL_P] MZ__WP
              camera, etc—during your daily activities.

              A small additional bag: This small bag is a necessity for certain portions of your adventure.

                 •  You will need it during the main trip for the flight between Akureyri and Reykjavik.
                    You should pack an overnight bag for this part of the trip and you will be able to send
                    your excess luggage with the motorcoach, which will meet the group at the airport upon
                    arrival in Reykyavik the following day.

                 •  You’ll also want the bag if you are taking either the pre- or the post-trip extension.
                    During the extensions, you will be able to store your excess luggage at the hotel in
                    Reykjavik where you will be able to retrieve it upon your return (we return to Reykjavik
                    at the end of both extensions).


               Locks
               1Z] ʮTRS_^ _SL_ Z]TRTYL_P TY _SP @ >   dZ` NLY PT_SP] `^P L ?>, L[[]ZaPO WZNV Z] WPLaP dZ`]
              luggage unlocked. Outside of the U.S. we strongly recommend locking your luggage as a
              theft-prevention measure.


               Clothing Suggestions

               Functional Tips

               As you will experience a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions, we suggest
               several layers of clothing. If you like to hand-wash your clothes, look for fabrics that will dry
               out overnight. You can buy clothing designed especially for travel, with features like wrinkle-
               resistant fabric or built-in sun protection.
                 •  Footwear: You’ll be on your feet a lot during the trip, and walking over some rough
                    LYO ^WT[[P]d ^`]QLNP^  ?SP ^ZWP^ ZQ dZ`] ^SZP^ ^SZ`WO ZʬP] RZZO _]LN_TZY  >_`]Od LYO
                    comfortable walking shoes with arch support are suggested.

                 •  Everyone should bring layers, even in summer, so you can adjust as the
                    temperature varies.
