REMARKS/SUGGESTIONS

Luggage rules: Luggage rules and limits are set by governmental and airline policy. Enforcement of the
rules may include spot checks or may be inconsistent. However one thing is the same across the board:
If you are found to have oversized or overweight luggage, you will be subject to additional fees, to be
assessed by—and paid to—the airline in question.

Weight Limits on the Main Trip: On the main trip, the flight between Akureyri to Reykjavik has a
luggage limit of 44 lbs for checked luggage. If you prefer to bring the standard 50 lbs of luggage for your
international flights, you will have the option to pack an overnight bag and send your excess luggage
with the motorcoach, which will meet the group at the airport upon arrival in Reykjavik the following
day. If you choose this option, any remaining luggage that you do bring on the flight must be under the
                44 lb limit.

Reminder to bring a small additional bag if you are taking either the pre- or the post-extension.
During the extensions, you will be able to store your excess luggage at the hotel in Reykjavik where you
will be able to retrieve it upon your return (we return to Reykjavik at the end of both extensions).

                   • On the extension to Westman Islands: Sometimes the aircraft for our flight back from the
Westman Islands is a small plane with no room for large suitcases. Unfortunately, there is no
reliable way to predict which aircraft will be used (the airlines doesn’t tell us). We suggest you
bring a smaller bag to use in the Westman Islands, as noted above. You will have an opportunity
to pack a small bag when we stop for breakfast, though we encourage you to come prepared
because you will not have private facilities in which to rearrange your luggage. Of course, this
means that you might bring the small bag and then have a full-size plane after all. But the point is
to be prepared for the worst while hoping for the best.

                   • On the extension to Greenland: The stricter weight limits for Greenland are due to the helicopter
rides. To work around this limit, our Trip Leaders suggest bringing a smaller bag to use in
                      Greenland, as noted above.

              Don’t Forget:
                 • These luggage limits may change. If the airline(s) notify us of any changes, we will
include an update in your Final Documents booklet.
