43 Download some entertainment before you leave
Airplane WiFi can be expensive, slow, or just not available. So before
boarding, download some music, an e-book, podcast, or a favorite tv show or
movie to enjoy during your flight. (Netflix lets you download movies and shows
for offline viewing, and Spotify Premium lets you do the same with your
playlists.) This is also really helpful when you are in remote areas or places
where WiFi is dodgy. Traveling with a pal? Consider getting a headphone splitter
so you can enjoy together.
44 Pack some healthy snacks
Toss some almonds, raisins, protein bars or carrot sticks in your
carry-on bag. It’s certainly more economical than buying food at the airport,
and healthier, too. Most airplane meals are loaded with salt (causing you to
retain water). To avoid eating heavy food that will just sit with your digestive
system, consider ordering the vegetarian meal option. You’ll get served first,
and the food is often fresher as it‘s not prepared in large batches.
