Meet the people who call Argentina
& Chile home
Family in Buenos Aires : As dinner guests of a local family
in Buenos Aires on Day 3, we’ll have a chance to enter
their home, taste traditional Argentinean dishes, and
have an open dialogue about daily life in the country’s capital.
A filmmaker in Buenos Aires : On Day 3 in Buenos Aires, filmmaker Mariano
Corbacho will talk about the tens of thousands of people who were kidnapped,
tortured, or killed during Argentina’s military dictatorship that ended in 1983, a
Controversial Topic that still affects Argentine citizens today.
Ranchers in Patagonia : There’s perhaps no better way to see Patagonia’s
Torres del Paine national park than on horseback. On Day 8, we’ll visit a working
estancia (or horse ranch) to meet with the locals who operate it and learn some
basic horse riding techniques before galloping off on a Patagonian expedition.
Falklands War Veteran : In the spring of 1982, a brief but bitter battle was waged
between Britain and Argentina over a remote and rocky outcropping of islands
off the Argentine coast—the Falklands Islands. We’ll meet with a veteran of this
war on Day 13 to learn about his wartime experiences and hear his take on the
Argentine “invasion.”
On Day 3, visit the La Boca district in Buenos Aires.
