                                                                                        their home, taste traditional Argentinean dishes, and
                                                                                        have an open dialogue about daily life in the country’s capital.
                                                                                            A filmmaker in Buenos Aires :  On Day 3 in Buenos Aires, filmmaker Mariano
                                                                                        Corbacho will talk about the tens of thousands of people who were kidnapped,
                                                                                        tortured, or killed during Argentina’s military dictatorship that ended in 1983, a
                                                                                        Controversial Topic that still affects Argentine citizens today.
                                                                                            Ranchers in Patagonia :  There’s perhaps no better way to see Patagonia’s
                                                                                        Torres del Paine national park than on horseback. On Day 8, we’ll visit a working
                                                                                        estancia (or horse ranch) to meet with the locals who operate it and learn some
                                                                                        basic horse riding techniques before galloping off on a Patagonian expedition.
                                                                                            Falklands War Veteran :  In the spring of 1982, a brief but bitter battle was waged
                                                                                        between Britain and Argentina over a remote and rocky outcropping of islands
                                                                                        off the Argentine coast—the Falklands Islands. We’ll meet with a veteran of this
                                                                                        war on Day 13 to learn about his wartime experiences and hear his take on the
                                                                                        Argentine “invasion.”
