One soft-sided suitcase. Look for one with heavy nylon fabric, wrap-around handles, built-in
wheels, and a heavy duty lockable zipper. Due to loading procedures, we prefer soft-sided
               suitcases.

several layers of clothing. If you like to hand-wash your clothes, look for fabrics that will dry
out overnight. You can buy clothing designed especially for travel, with features like wrinkle-
resistant fabric or built-in sun protection.

Southern Alps, where there may even be some snow. Winter lasts from May through
September, but all the elements of that season—ice, hail, snow, sleet—can happen any
