                                                                                          On Day 4, we’ll learn about
                                                                                        Rwanda’s plan to restore
                                                                                        peace and unity when we
                                                                                        spend A Day in the Life of
                                                                                        a Reconciliation Village—a
                                                                                        remarkable community where perpetrators and survivors
                                                                                        of the genocide live side-by-side to rebuild trust and a sense of
                                                                                        community.

                                                                                          Genocide Survivors :  On Day 4, we’ll also visit a Reconciliation
                                                                                        Village to meet with genocide survivors and perpetrators who now
                                                                                        live together peacefully while trying to heal the traumas of their past.
                                                                                          Women Farmers :  At a Women’s Opportunity Center near the town of
                                                                                        Kayonza on Day 5, we’ll talk with some of the many women farmers
                                                                                        who gather here from the surrounding countryside to improve their
                                                                                        lives through education, agriculture, and food cooperatives.
                                                                                          Gorilla Doctors :  On Day 9, we’ll meet with Gorilla Doctors, a
                                                                                        mountain gorilla veterinary project at the base of the Virunga
                                                                                        Mountains, where we can ask the team questions and learn about
                                                                                        the history of mountain gorilla conservation.
