Patrons of Local Irish Pubs : Throughout our
adventure, we’ll have opportunities to meet,
mingle, and perhaps share a pint with locals
at Irish pubs. Clink glasses with new friends,
exclaim “Sláinte!” (Gaelic for “cheers”), and
experience Ireland’s famed hospitality.
Belfast’s Famed Cab Drivers : On Day 5, we’ll travel the city
like local residents—via black cab in groups of 3-5 people per car. In this
intimate setting, we’ll talk to the cab drivers about their experiences growing
up in Northern Ireland’s capital, as sights throughout the city bring their
stories to life.
Irish Farmer : Meet a local artisan who weaves Donegal’s legendary tweed by
hand during A Day in the Life of St. John’s Point, a tight-knit rural community
in southwest Donegal. We’ll visit the thatch-roof cottage where she works
alongside her mother each day, then visit Heather Hill Farm, an up-and-coming
farmstead dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and healthy produce
across all of Ireland.
Family in Ennistymon : On Day 14, we’ll step into the home of a local family
in Ennistymon, a small village with a population of just more than 1,000, for
a Home-Hosted Dinner featuring typical Irish fare. There’s no better way to
immerse yourself in local culture and politics than to cook and eat with a local
family, and join in on dinnertime conversations.
Throughout our adventure, we’ll mingle with the friendly people of Ireland.
