What our travelers say:
13 See Milford Sound by plane.

Taking a small propeller plane from Queenstown to Milford Sound
and back is one of the biggest highlights of my time in New Zealand. You see
the snow-capped mountains at a much closer range than a larger flight. The
captain will throw in some historical facts and make the 30-minute flight
seem so quick. You will get to see The Remarkables mountain range and can
admire the lush greenery from above. We used Air Milford, a family-owned
company and it was amazing. They book your Milford Sound cruise for you
and provide a cheese and cracker platter onboard.

14 Take the plunge in New Zealand.

A popular extreme sport in Queenstown is bungee jumping. If you are
75 or over you can jump for free! OK, maybe that is not enough to convince you

to strap on a bungee harness and jump o the 141-foot high bridge that spans
the Kawarau River Gorge. But it sure is thrilling to watch someone else do it.
The site is in the Gibbston Valley, about 15 minutes from downtown Queenstown.
It’s a scenic spot with a café and viewing areas. You can get there via the free
Bungy Bus (from the Queenstown Bungy Centre, Corner of Shotover & Camp
Streets), even if you are only planning to be a spectator.

                What our travelers say:
15 Try meat pies in Arrowtown.

Arrowtown is a charming little “gold rush village” just outside of
Queenstown. In addition to its unique gold mining history, there are a bunch
of small shops, galleries, and restaurants along the main road, Buckingham
Street. It’s a great place to wander around and enjoy lunch on a patio. Make
sure to stop into the Arrowtown Bakery for one of their famous meat pies.
